Patricia McGettigan is a Clinical Pharmacologist and Consultant Physician at Queen Mary University of London and Barts Health NHS Trust where she leads MBBS clinical pharmacology teaching and biomedical sciences medicines regulation teaching and provides clinical care in cardiology and specialist HIV-cardiovascular risk management. Her research is pharmacoepidemiology-focused and includes investigations on drug-related adverse events, regulatory authorisations of medicines, HIV co-morbidities and migrant medicines use. At the European Medicines Agency, she led its Patient Registries Initiative to establish registry use in benefit-risk evaluation of medicines. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland and of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
